Bridesmaid Speeches
Need Bridesmaid Speeches?
Why are you looking for Bridesmaid speeches? Have you been chosen as a Bridesmaid for a friend or family member? Many brides also call their "maid of honor" a "bridesmaid." The rolls blur, so you may have to give a speech, even though you are called a "bridesmaid" and not a "maid of honor."

Bridesmaids are a vital part of making a wedding successful. They help the bride, together with the maid of honor, plan the wedding, put together essential elements, keep her sane and, with the help of the maid of honor, put together pre-wedding parties like the bridal shower and bachlorette party.
Tips for bridesmaid speeches:
Although traditionally only the maid of honor gives a speech the bridesmaids can also get up and say a few words as well if they wish. Here are some tips for putting together a bridesmaid speech.

1. Talk to the other bridesmaids first:
Make sure you talk to the other ladies and share what each one of you wants to say so there isn’t a repetition of the same lines over and over again or the same story told three different ways.
2. Respect each other’s time:
Don’t spend ten minutes talking while there are three other ladies still waiting to speak. Not only is it an inappropriate length of time but it will take away from their speeches because everyone will be bored or uninterested by the time you are done.
3. Do a group speech:
If you’re all pretty close this works really well. Get together and write a speech or toss around ideas of what you want to talk about and what the point is you’re trying to express.
Practice your speech several times. Either elect one person to speak on behalf of everyone or split up parts of the speech so everyone has their own section.
Rehearse the speech so it flows well from one person to the next. Make sure everyone is well aware of where to pick up and drop off as well as what to say so as to avoid repetition. Work as a team and everything will run much smoother.
4. Speak from the heart:
Let the bride, groom and guests all know how much you love them, how excited you are and how honored you are to be a part of this special day. A gracious bridesmaid is always appreciated.
