Wedding planning, a time phrame 3

Hi Everyone,

Here are the things that you need to finalize at least two and one months befor your wedding:

Weddings Planning:

There are certain things that need to be done in good time if you want your wedding planning to run smoothly. In our previous blogs we gave you details of what wedding planning needs to be done at least 6 months ahead of time, then 4 months ahead of time and then 3 months ahead of time. In this blog we are going to give you the details that need to be finalized at least 2 months and 1 month before the wedding.

At least two months before the wedding:

By now all the wedding invitations should have been posted. Remember you must not send them out to soon, but, by now you need to send them all. Make very sure that you do not send any invitations less than 6 weeks ahead of time. People need to make arrangements for attending your wedding and they need to have enough time for it.

Finalize your pre-nuptial and have it drawn up.

If you are satisfied with the test runs of your make-up and hair, finalize your appointments.

The groom needs to finalize the overnight arrangements for the first night after the wedding. Keep in mind that it should be close by and easy to reach if you are tired after the wedding. It may sound strange, but you may be exhausted!

Buy your going-away dress and the other clothes you need for the honeymoon. If the honeymoon is a surprise, the groom needs to give you an indication of the kind of clothes you are likely to need.

Buy a present for your husband-to-be. It does not have to be expensive; the main idea is the thought that goes into it. It is the idea that counts. You want to show him you really thought about this and you did not buy the first and easiest thing available.

1 Month before the wedding:

Finalize the menu with the caterer. Make sure you get everything in writing; it is not worth taking any chances. The menu will be in English, if you want it in any other language, have it translated by a specialist.

Finalize the amount of bouquets with the florist. Make sure you include the corsages and any other flowers you may need.

If there are any guests that ask for it, send them a list of your preferred wedding gifts.

The groom needs to start working on his speech. Here it is a good idea to get help from a good E-Book such as WeddingSpeech4You

Finalize your table placements and your placement cards.

Inform all interested parties of your change of address.

Keep meticulous record of all your guests’ acceptance of declinations of invitations. There will always be those who forget to answer you, phone them to finalize your list.

Give an estimate of the amount of guests to the caterer.

Organize the parking arrangements for your guests.

Buy the wedding rings.

Get all the jewelry and accessories for your wedding gown. Ask the advice from your designer.

Buy things like stockings, bath oils and everything you need for the big spoil!

If you are going to do your own make-up, make sure you have everything you need.

Make an alphabetical list of the guests. Have it types out but remember that last minute changes are very likely to happen.

Remember, if you are organized your wedding planning will be a joy. Do not try and do everything yourself, get help, you’ll be surprised at how many people are only too willing to help. Make everyone part of the excitement of the biggest day of your life! Your Wedding Planning is part of the excitement of the day; do not spoil it for yourself by trying to do too much yourself. Having the wedding of your dreams is more important than trying to do it all!

Enjoy your wedding Planning,
Jacob.

Wedding Planning: A Time Frame

Hi Everyone,

Here are  some ideas on things you need to finalize by six months and four months befor your wedding (at the very latest.)

Wedding Planning: A Time Frame For Your Planning

When planning your wedding you have to ensure that you do everything in time. Here is a sample of the time frame for a wedding that should give you an idea of the very latest time you have to do most of your planning for your wedding.

At least six months before your wedding you need to do the following planning:

  1. By now the date should have been finalized!
  2. Decide on the kind of reception you want.
  3. Finalize your budget.
  4. By now all your reservation for the venue should have been made. The best venues are booked up at least a year ahead. If you plan your wedding for a less popular time of the year you should still be able to book the venue you want.
  5. Make all the reservations for any items you plan on renting.
  6. Make the reservations for your church music as well as the music at the reception.
  7. If you still want to loose some weight, now is the time to start! Nothing too drastic though.
  8. Order your wedding cake.
  9. Make the bookings for your wedding photographer.
  10. Decide on your dress.
  11. The groom needs to finalize the honeymoon reservations by now.
  12. Make your guest list.
  13. Discuss the guest list with the parents and decide on a number for each family according to the available budget. Make sure everyone is happy.

At least four months ahead of your wedding you need to do the following planning:

  1. Decide on a dress maker and have the dressmaker start on your wedding dress. This is not always the time a dressmaker will start on the dress. If you still plan on losing a little weight the dressmaker may decide on starting the dress closer to the wedding. You do not want an ill-fitting dress!
  2. Decide on your shoes and start searching. Discuss your shoes with your dressmaker to be sure you are on the same wave-length.
  3. Make the final decision on the bridal entourage.
  4. Decide on their clothes and who is going to pay for it.
  5. Finalize your master of ceremonies.
  6. Book the wedding official.
  7. Pay a visit to your gynecologist
  8. Take dancing lessons if you need them.
  9. Start looking for your honeymoon clothes.

Remember, in different countries, different time frames exist. This is only an example and in a later blog we’ll look at three months before the wedding.

Wedding Decorations

Hi Everyone,

Here are some tips and ideas for traditional wedding decorations:

Decorations Ideas For Your Dream Wedding

An important part of planning your wedding will be deciding on the wedding decorations. There is a lot of choice and a great deal of options to take into consideration. Of course much will depend on the theme of your wedding if you are going to have a specific theme. In your planning you must also take into consideration the time of year and the location.

Here are some suggestions for decorations for a traditional wedding:

1. Flowers

  • Coordinating the colors:

Flowers are essential of course – it is impossible to imagine a wedding without lots of flowers! Flowers are a feature of all of the different locations and stages of the wedding and you can create a color theme to your wedding simply by co-ordinating all of the flowers. This includes your bouquet and the corsages worn by the maid of honour and bridesmaids as well as the buttonhole flowers of the groom and his team.

  • The wedding as well as reception venue:

Then you will want flowers in the church or hall where the ceremony is taking place. Usually there are flowers at the altar, in the lobby and along the aisle on the ends of the rows of seats. Plus of course you will have flowers on the tables for the celebratory meal and perhaps at the evening party too.

The flowers that you select will depend on the colors of your dress, the bridesmaid's dresses and the color scheme of the rooms that you are using, as well as the time of year. Using seasonal flowers will reduce the cost although you must expect the flowers to be a significant part of your budget unless you restrict them to the bare essentials.

  • A florist or a friend?

You probably will not be able to arrange the flowers yourself. This is a last-minute task and you will have too much else to do on the morning of your wedding. Some florists may set the arrangements up for you without extra cost if you order all of the flowers from them. Alternatively you could have a friend do it, but be sure you will get what you want or both your wedding and your friendship could be spoiled!

2. Table Decorations

Alongside the flowers you will probably want candles on the tables. There is a lot you can do here to personalize your wedding reception. If you are holding this in a hotel they may suggest standard candles and candleholders that they can supply along with the table settings but you may want to supply your own to make them more individual. Floating candles create an intimate atmosphere that encourages conversation. Combine with marbles and colored water for an elegant effect. Tall candleholders give a more formal look to the tables.

Fresh cut fruit can make a wonderful centerpiece for your tables. You may also want to have balloons in your reception hall, and you can fix the ribbons to the tables to have a cluster of balloons floating above each table. For maximum elegance for a spring or summer wedding have just one color of balloons (yellow works great) plus white. In the fall you can select fall colors for balloons and other table decorations.

You should also ask the hotel or catering company if they have a choice of table linens and view these before you decide on the color and style of your candles and flowers. You may also be able to select the china, cutlery and glasses. Do this early so that you can plan around your choice. If you do not like what is on offer, you may even want to hire wedding supplies from a rental company.

Just looking through a catering or Rental Company’s catalogue may give you ideas for your wedding. Other sources of inspiration could include conference centers and magazines aimed at older women. Do not limit yourself to just looking in bridal magazines for your wedding decorations ideas.

Remember, it is not always the most expensive and elaborate decorations that look the best. Sometimes very simple decorations, done tastefully can be much prettier and festive. Do not let other twist your arm for something you do not want. Remember it is your wedding and you have to decide what you want. You will be surprised at how easy and cheap the decorations of your choice can be.

Get yourself a package such as “Amazing Wedding Planning” and you will be amazed at how easy and cheap it really can be.

Enjoy your day,

Jacob
